| The
Design Process |
Sue
Neave will be happy to call for an initial consultation
and this may be all you need for her to give you some
ideas and on the spot advice. The charge for this will
depend on how far away you are. The portfolio of gardens
can be viewed at this stage. Sometimes sketches and a
small plan could be enough to get you started. Photographs
will be taken throughout the process.
Some gardens are just tired and may want a revamp. Now
is the time to take out overgrown shrubs and give the
garden a new look. Perhaps the children have left home
and you no longer need the lawn for a football pitch.
It could become your hot, gravel garden or a peaceful
oasis surrounded by fragrant herbs and lavender.
If you decide you would like a garden plan, an analysis
of the site will be done to ascertain the soil type /
aspect etc. The site would be measured and in the case
of very large complicated sites a survey may be needed.
A quote for this would be given separately.
All through this process discussions will be going on
with you as to your likes and dislikes - what plants do
you absolutely not want? It’s surprising how strongly
some people feel against certain plants! Do you want a
paved seating area or a smooth lawn? Do you need a compost
heap? Water? What about lighting?
Sketches, photos and perspective drawings will be presented
so you have a good idea of how the garden will look, along
with an unfinished scale plan with ideas for plants and
trees. Finally a large finished scale plan is drawn up.
This is usually hand coloured and can be adapted and used
for obtaining quotes for building the garden. This is
your property if you would prefer to get your own contractor.
Planting plans and details of plants can also be supplied.
We can carry out simply the planting if you prefer, leaving
the building to you - We will fit in with any way you
would like to proceed!
So, now is the time to think about changing or adapting
your garden and give yourself something you have always
wanted.
